Homemade Vanilla Simple Syrup
Easy to make at home using ingredients you already have in your kitchen.
Servings: 8 servings
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 TBSP vanilla
Place sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium high heat. Using a whisk stir to dissolve the sugar.
Bring to boil for 1 minute and stir lightly throughout, then turn heat down to medium low and simmer for 5-6 minutes stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Store in a glass airtight container in the fridge. Store in an airtight glass container in the fridge for up to 2 months. Make sure to add the vanilla extract after you remove the syrup from the heat. Can add 1/8 tsp salt to enhance flavour. 1 tablespoon of this syrup is equivalent to 1 pump of vanilla syrup from a bottle.
