For a hot dairy free drink that is healthy and easy to make you will love this dairy free maple latte that is refined sugar free. I don’t like spending a lot of money on expensive coffee drinks so I make my own versions at home. I love using steamed milk with strong coffee to make a latte. This recipes heats everything together on the stove top, but you can use a mason jar and the microwave just as well. Here are the instructions on how to froth milk in a mason jar.

How to sweeten Your Maple Latte

I like to use maple syrup or honey to sweeten my homemade lattes. They are great natural sweeteners that give Slightly different tastes to a latte. Honey is more mild flavor and works well for making a vanilla latte. While the maple syrup brings it’s own flavour and can create a great taste for your homemade Maple Latte. Always add your sweetener to your milk before heating/frothing it. A latte from a coffee shop always froths the flavored syrup to the milk before steaming it.

Frothing the milk

Dairy free milk doesn’t foam as much as regular dairy. So it is important that you use a milk like coconut, coconut/almond blend or an oat milk. They have a richer flavor since they are more fatty then rice or almond milk. The best type of dairy free milk to use for a frothy latte is a Baritsa blend. They froth better than almond or rice milk.
